Types of coffee roasts
Whether you like your coffee bold and strong or with a lighter flavor, we offer a variety of roast profiles to choose from. Light roasts are known for their light color and mild flavor. They’re roasted for a shorter time at lower temperatures, preserving the beans' natural characteristics. Light roasts tend to have more floral and fruity tasting notes. If you’re looking for a light roast, try our Early Bird Blend which also happens to be Emma’s favorite.
Medium roasts strike a balance between light and dark. They have a well-rounded flavor profile with moderate acidity and a combination of sweet, nutty, and fruity notes. Medium roasts are among Chamberlain Coffee’s most popular blends as they offer the perfect balance. We have a wide variety of medium roasts to choose from. For more classic medium roasts, try our Social Dog and Original Family Blends. If you’re looking for a hint of flavor, all of our flavored blends are medium roasts.
In contrast, dark roasts result from longer, high-temperature roasting. They offer a richer flavor, typically with lower acidity and notes of toasted nuts, caramel, and graham crackers. If you’re looking for a dark roast, try our Fancy Mouse Espresso and Night Owl Blends.

Decaf versus Half Caff
Have you ever craved the taste of coffee without the stimulating effects? Decaf and half-caff coffee are great options for anyone looking to reduce their caffeine intake. Decaf coffee undergoes a process to remove almost all of its caffeine content, reducing the caffeine levels to about 2 mg of caffeine (compared to a typical cup of coffee which has about 95 mg of caffeine). Try our Sleepy Sloth Decaf Blend if you’re looking to cut back on caffeine.
For those who want a little boost of caffeine without the full effect, there’s half-caff! Half-caff coffee blends regular caffeinated coffee with decaffeinated coffee, using 50% regular coffee and 50% decaf. Many customers see this option as the perfect middle ground for consuming some caffeine without a full dose. Try our Careless Cat Half-Caff Blend if you’re looking to strike a balance.
